Mike:

An hour before the Freaks went out, we met at Perkins for a bible study to discuss the topics and issues encountered on the streets. When we left the restaurant we were prepared for anything. We drove downtown, parked in the ramp, prayed, then I teamed up the groups and we headed off.

Out on the streets, I stopped to talk with a man in the bus stop.  When I finished proclaiming the Gospel to this man I looked for my partners but could not locate them. So the rest of the night I went proclaiming the Gospel solo. Afterwords we got together and everyone shared their experiences of great encounters sharing the Gospel. Here is just one experience from the team.

Mark VP:

From my perspective, a night out with the Freaks, sharing the Good News of Christ to those "on" the streets or just passing through, is an incredible experience in three ways. First, it acted like a defibrillator to my soul. Sharing Christ with total strangers never ceases to jump start my faith at any time, at any level. Second, it forces me to know what I believe. Sharing my faith always drives me deeper into The Word for clarity and answers. Third, being obedient to share Christ, then watching people respond to the gospel, is a high like no other.

Eight of us spent a couple hours in 15 degree temps with winds whipping up a cold frenzy. But seeing the fire of Christ work in those we shared with, was warming to the soul. We are not the Light, but Christ is!! (John 1:8).

By the bus stop, huddled in a circle, Scott and I had the privilege of praying with 3 guys to receive Christ as their Lord and Savior. A while later, a gal also gave her life to Christ. Those were special moments and a joy to be a part of.  There were others, who did not give their lives over to Christ, but listened as the Gospel was presented. I believe The Word will not return void, and God will use other people to water the seeds planted that night, and strike up another chorus of "all the angels in heaven rejoiced."

Thank you for encouraging me, Freaks!!
