I am so blessed to be called a Jesus Freak! I tell people that I witness to, that today I am somebody I despised 10 years ago before I was saved. That kind of transformation is something that can only be explained through God.
What happened on Saturday Oct. 29th, 2011 is definitely something that I NEVER thought I would ever consider, let alone participate in. There were five faithful servants that were obedient to God's call to go seek and save the lost through the power of the Holy Spirit and Christ speaking through us at the Anoka Halloween Parade. Anoka, "the Halloween capital of the world" was definitely not prepared for what was about to take place. The boldness that I witnessed through myself and the other Freaks was definitely not of us. With God we go and succeed, and without God we fail. Nothing is done without the One who gives us the ability and desire to speak to people about eternity, and hand out gospel tracts that spell out what it means to be a follower of Christ. All in all there were roughly 2300 gospel tracts distributed, 50 movie180 dvd's passed out, and a number of one on one encounters that God blessed us with!
Please pray for the people that received a tract. Halloween, which I consider to be "national evangelism day" is a day that we as Christians shouldn't put our noses up to. Think about it. There are millions of kids all around the country knocking on our doors with open bags and willing to take anything we give them. What an unbelievable opportunity to pass out a gospel tract! No matter what their motive is, our motive should be the advancement of the gospel. This opportunity is so obvious that many of us miss it.
I found myself thinking on Saturday, I am not of this world, but I have to live in it. So why not take every single opportunity given to me to work for the Lord. Even if it is big bad Halloween. Can God use Halloween? Of course He can, and He did on Saturday through the Jesus Freaks. I am so blessed to be part of a church that supports this ministry! All the glory goes to God!!
In Christ,
Scott
